Distribution-preserving statistical disclosure limitation
One approach to limiting disclosure risk in public-use microdata is to release multiply-imputed, partially synthetic data sets. These are data on actual respondents, but with con dential data replaced by multiply-imputed synthetic values. A mis-speci ed imputation model can invalidate inferences because the distribution of synthetic data is completely determined by the model used to generate th...

متن کاملStatistical Disclosure Limitation For Data Access
Definition Statistical Disclosure Limitation refers to the broad array of methods used to protect confidentiality of statistical data, i.e., fulfilling an obligation to data providers or respondents not to transmit their information to an unauthorized party. Data Access refers to complementary obligations of statistical agencies and others to provide information for statistical purposes without...
متن کاملCompressed Polytopes and Statistical Disclosure Limitation
We provide a characterization of the compressed lattice polytopes in terms of their facet defining inequalities and we show that every compressed lattice polytope is affinely isomorphic to a 0/1-polytope. As an application, we characterize those graphs whose cut polytopes are compressed and discuss consequences for studying linear programming relaxations in statistical disclosure limitation.
متن کاملTowards a Bayesian Perspective on Statistical Disclosure Limitation
National statistical offices and other organizations collect data on individual subjects (persons, businesses, organizations), while typically assuring the subject that data pertaining to them will be held confidential. These data provide the raw material for the statistical data products (tabular summaries, microdata files comprised of data records pertaining to individual subjects, and, poten...
